I'm bored with my layout. I want something new, but my wells of inspiration is low at the moment. So, in a bid to become inspired, I turn to you lot. Please, if you've got a moment, post a link in the comments to a site who's design you particularly like. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Thanks! I do still quite like it but I've had it for a while now and I feel the need for random change.

If we are talking your LJ layout, then I think you probably know that I love the cleanliness of it. Hey, I've used it myself (thank you!). As such I also like your site design.

This said I've been toying with and experimenting with a new look. But I've been trying to do it with mimimal modification to the underlying CSS structure, but instead adding some sort of self-created low-key graphical elements. Maybe you should think about that? Take another trip down the Zen Garden and see what you can do?

Self created could be a bit tricky as I have little or no talent with real or digital art. I do like the idea of a bit of low key graphics though.

I love the cleanliness of it myself and I'd be going for minimalism again, it's just that I'm a little bored....

If your're bored with the clean-line look, you could go with something containing some photographic elements -- probably a banner at the top is a good place to start, rather than backgrounds...

Eric Meyer's site has a rotating photo banner. Ditto for Zeldman. Working out a system of slicing banners out of photos and rotating them should keep you occupied for a little while....

For a more designer approach, try something like Surfin' Safari with a striking colour scheme includinhg colourized photos. Some people loathe it, but that's a sign that it at least stands out from the crowd.

For a textured background, you could try something from Squidfingers

An on-line Colour Scheme generator that might be useful when coming up with daring but harmonous colour combinations.
